Today we went to the Meltons to enjoy their company, their grill, and their backyard on this lovely, sunny, hot Memorial Day. We stayed inside for awhile, also enjoying their air conditioning! The girls played with some toys and I walked in to find Nora comforting and feeding a baby doll. So cute.
Ella found another baby doll. I guess it was hungry, too, because it also needed a bottle.
Once toys were cleared out of the box, of course they needed to sit in it and then asked for a "ride".
Well, the pool apparently had deflated (beyond repair). So we were left with the sprinkler. Not so bad:) Daddy had to coax the girl through it but eventually they decided it was pretty neat.
Nora really likes strawberries.
Brave Ella picked up a play alligator and was very fascinated.
A few days ago...Snack time. The girls really wanted to watch a show called "Pingu"--it's a Swedish clay-mation show about a penguin. The penguins speak Swedish (Andrew thinks it is just jibberish, but I think it is Swedish). They barely blinked.
Nora was at it again--pretend sleeping. She's getting pretty convincing!
Nora's nails are painted. She has been so thrilled with the results. She is a very girlie girl. When I ask Ella if she wants her finger or toe-nails painted she yells "No!" and runs away.
One really girlie thing the girls like to do together is play with necklaces. Off and on and off and on and trade and steal and on and off...
Yesterday we went to Valley Forge Nat'l Park. I thought the girls would enjoy it because they can run around on the paths and we dont have to worry about cars. It was a very nice day. Nora did have a meltdown, or two, but since we were outside it wasnt so bad. She got over it. We kept it moving.
(And as part of the never-ending saga with my new camera, the battery died after only two pictures even thoughI had charged it the day before. Oh well. It seemed to be working okay today!)
