Easter Sunday

Easter this year also just happened to be my birthday. But it was really all about the candy.

With a couple days of rain and sunshine the tree in the backyard blossomed.
Easter baskets
Just up from their beds...

The pictures dont do the mess justice.
Church

We took a walk after brunch
Windy day! The girls thought it was funny that their dresses kept blowing up to their faces.
Back home, Ella goes right for the chocolate bunny.
The girls do their first at-home egg hunt.

Ella, with evidence of the chocolate bunny all over her face.

Taking pictures is easy with such photographic children!

The Please Touch Museum

Today the girls and I went to the Please Touch Museum--the childrens' museum in Philadelphia. We had never been there before (it ain't cheap!) but it did not disappoint. We went with another twins mom and her two--Jake and Shelby--who are about one year older than our girls.

The building is quite impressive it was built in 1876 for the World's Fair and sat empty until recently. The photo I took doesnt show the scale of it, so I snagged this off the web:
Here's my pic with the girls at the bottom of the stairs in front
Inside the front door:
This was, by far, Ella's favorite--the bus. She got off and on at least 30 times. We came back twice because she insisted. She is actually sitting on the bus in the photo, but you cant see the little thing.
Water play
Slide!
Here the girls and Shelby check out twigs and eggs in a tree
They actually ended up playing a pretty great tune, following each other down the keys...
Nora, playing her little baby grand
Nursery Rhyme Land
I was just waiting for some blackbirds to come out of their pie...
Jake was captain of the ship for awhile
There is an Alice and Wonderland section where you can paint the roses and walk through the garden (it smells like roses!). Nora walked up to the Mad Hatter's tea party...
Ella actually looked big at the end of the hall!
A play house
Of course, Nora wanted to vacuum
Ella puts a blanket in the baby's crib
Nora grabbed a shovel and used it as a dustpan!
Oh, then there was McDonalds. Yeah.
The girls made sandwiches
Then we went grocery shopping (that's Carrie with her twins and a cart)

The science section. Ella loved watching the balls float on air
Ground Control to Major Tom
We went on the carousel
The girls were nice and calm as we waited. I've never had a time when both wanted to stay on their horse and ride the ride.
Carrie offered to take a photo of the three of us and Nora started her meltdown and Ella looked away. This is why I am laughing.
Luckily both girls calmed down and seemed to enjoy the ride. Now they are sleeping soundly in their beds...
