Mama turned 30

Wow. As usual, I was the one with a camera at my thirtieth birthday party and took photos of everyone but myself. I asked others in attendance if they had taken any of me and this was the result--the lone photo taken of the birthday girl:Thanks, Tim! I think...

Peek-A-Boo

The girls have started playing peek-a-boo! They find it very amusing and we think they are the cutest. Here's a little video from today. (If you get annoyed by my voice like I do, just turn down the volume!)

Oh, Boy. Here she Goes!

Here it is! Nothing is a better motivator for Nora (or her Mama) than food! She manages to start to crawl get to the goodie. Such a big girl! By the way, Daddy dressed her this morning :)

Way to go, Nora!

The Latest...

Here's a post to let you know what is up with us right now:
-Not Ella's pants!
Nora likes to stand a lot. Here she is holding onto the couch. She cant get herself up on her own yet, but she'll hang out there for awhile if you lift her up
The weather has been pretty nice lately, which means lot of walks!
Both ladies hanging out in Nora's crib
Yeah! They can both finally hold their own bottles...such coveted moments
We walked into the girls' room yesterday and found this: Nora standing up on her own trying to grab at Daddy's books! You can see his hand on the right trying to intervene
We went to the park yesterday. The girls were checking out the kid swinging next to them.

Andrew joined the Philly ultimate frisbee league and had a couple of games today. The weather was perfect so Mama brought the girls along (and despite all evidence to the contrary, Mama does exist!)

At the game they were serving up some delicious tomato pie. We were inspired and picked up our own for dinner. I dont know if there are tomato pies everywhere, but it seems to be big in Philly. It's like cold pizza without the cheese. It's all about the sauce. Since this picture was taken we have gone on to eat at least half of the pie. And it's not even dinner time! Now if only we had some water ice to follow it up...

oh boy, we're in trouble!

Well, it's beginning. That's what we keep telling ourselves! The girls are getting bigger and more mobile.
Last week, Nora finally got her second tooth:The feet of their Easter pj's (cute!):
Ella's tries her first bite of an apple--she loves it!
Just so darn cute:
Nora's new thing--sitting up in bed like a big girl, talking to her sis (and anyone else who will listen). Daddy found her, instead of taking a nap, flipping through the pages of Finnegan's Wake (note the bookcase behind the crib). The baby-proofing begins.
Wow. Here come the videos (brace yourselves, Grandparents!). They are longer than what I usually post, but I dont think you'll mind.
  • The first I took after I had left the room yesterday and came back to this scene: Nora and Ella next to each other and it looked as though Nora was giving Ella a "baby backrub", and Ella was laughing. I grabbed my camera and started filming. They are becoming much more interactive with each other (even in the past week!).
  • The second was last night. Nora had moved from the blanket by the couch to in front of the tv stand on her own, as I was changing Ella's diaper on the floor. She managed to get herself up on her knees and was hanging on the top of the stand, though she cant quite yet pull herself to a stand (I also filmed this). I put her down on her rump because I was afraid she would fall backwards. I started filming again and she came this close to crawling. The little girl is almost there. As you can see at the end of the video, "it's beginning..."

Weekend at the park

Grandma Richards was here a week ago to hang out with her ladies. Over the weekend, the weather was nice and led us to take a walk to the local park:Ella

we miss Daddy

Daddy is in NYC for the New York Book Fair all week and his girls miss him. Luckily, Grandma Richards is in town keeping us company. Here are some picture for Daddy to enjoy while he is away:
(we finally got bows that actually stay in their hair)

Ella was crawling over the boppy so she could chew on the tag...(no surprise)
