Happy Memorial Day!

Today we went to the Meltons to enjoy their company, their grill, and their backyard on this lovely, sunny, hot Memorial Day. We stayed inside for awhile, also enjoying their air conditioning! The girls played with some toys and I walked in to find Nora comforting and feeding a baby doll. So cute.

Ella found another baby doll. I guess it was hungry, too, because it also needed a bottle.
Once toys were cleared out of the box, of course they needed to sit in it and then asked for a "ride".
Well, the pool apparently had deflated (beyond repair). So we were left with the sprinkler. Not so bad:) Daddy had to coax the girl through it but eventually they decided it was pretty neat.

Nora really likes strawberries.
Brave Ella picked up a play alligator and was very fascinated.

A few days ago...Snack time. The girls really wanted to watch a show called "Pingu"--it's a Swedish clay-mation show about a penguin. The penguins speak Swedish (Andrew thinks it is just jibberish, but I think it is Swedish). They barely blinked.
Nora was at it again--pretend sleeping. She's getting pretty convincing!
Nora's nails are painted. She has been so thrilled with the results. She is a very girlie girl. When I ask Ella if she wants her finger or toe-nails painted she yells "No!" and runs away.
One really girlie thing the girls like to do together is play with necklaces. Off and on and off and on and trade and steal and on and off...

Yesterday we went to Valley Forge Nat'l Park. I thought the girls would enjoy it because they can run around on the paths and we dont have to worry about cars. It was a very nice day. Nora did have a meltdown, or two, but since we were outside it wasnt so bad. She got over it. We kept it moving.
(And as part of the never-ending saga with my new camera, the battery died after only two pictures even thoughI had charged it the day before. Oh well. It seemed to be working okay today!)

Fun in the Sun!

Hot day in Philly today. The girls and I were invited over to the Meltons where they had just set up their little pool! I guess summer is here!
(Grandparents Richards take note--one of these for the kiddies during the big summer fest would go over very well...just sayin')

May Day

One of the girls' favorite past times--sitting in boxes.
Nora was such a big help and assisted Mama in unloading the dishwasher. She is so proud of herself when she can help out Mama and Daddy.

Meanwhile, Ella sat in a box and wondered why it would not "Go!" when she told it to.

Cute little shot. Today, Daddy had the girls build a pillow tower.

Nora's latest thing is to pretend she is sleeping--anywhere. She thinks it is hilarious. Here she "sleeps" on the pillow tower.
Ella tries to wake her. But it doesn't work.
So Ella and Daddy have to tickle her awake!
Then they made a pillow path. The way Ella enunciates made it sounds like a "poo path" (which she then repeated over and over again). That cracked us up.

This afternoon we went to the playground. Yeah!
Nora likes a nice, easy swing.
Ella LOVES the swings. She loves to be pushed fast and high. I think she likes that "stomach flip" feeling.
Daddy leads Nora across the playground
"Mama, why are you taking my picture and not helping me down this slide?!"
They are starting to eat big people food: grilled cheese sandwich, hummus. It's nice. Now if only they could make it themselves...

Oh, Mothers' Day!

Happy Mothers' Day to us all.
But mostly to our own mothers (Mom/Gigi and Mamasan/Grandma)! You two rock.

This morning we went to church and I really wanted to get a nice photo of me with the girls (as I am rarely in the photos!). As usual, it isn't easy to get a toddler to sit still. TWO toddlers? Forget about it!Ella sits, Nora walks away...

Classic. I try to get a nice shot by holding them and it results in anarchy. But, I love them! After church we went out to lunch (Iron Hill Brewery!)
Ella play peek-a-boo with her napkin
Nora & Daddy shared some giggles
Another shot of their new room set up. I think this one is better than I posted yesterday. They LOVE it!
